After Newsies: The Broadway Musical was filmed in 2017, FathomEvents.com hosted a cinematic "moviegoing experience" that allowed anyone near a participating movie theater to see the Broadway show on the silver screen.  I didn't see it; I didn't even know about it.  But, the next year, after I stumbled across the filmed version on Netflix, I was suddenly infused with the Newsies spirit and was drinking in anything I could get my hands on about the show and its actors.  When I began seeing hints that it might be shown in a movie theater, I started snooping (which, thanks to Google, wasn't all that hard to do), and found out that, YES!, there was going to be a SECOND cinematic event!  And since I knew about Newsies now, you can bet that I wasn't going to miss it! 

 

The closest one was not quite an hour away in Asheville, NC (I lived in the mountains of Western North Carolina at the time), but that didn't stop me!  I was there, sweet little ticket in my hand, and excitement oozing out of every pore.  I loved the pre-show entertainment -- things like short interviews with some of the actors, behind-the-scenes videos, and a ton of trivia questions (to which I knew all the answers, I might add!).  Seeing the show in larger-than-life-size was incredible!  I wish it would happen again, but I'll settle for having on-demand access to it through Disney+ and Fandango-At-Home (I purchased it in the interim period after it left Netflix and before Disney+ began -- I was addicted, there was no way I was going to be without my Broadway Newsies now that I knew it existed!)
