Finally Taking the Leap

I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time now.
“This is the season,” I told myself. “The 2024–25 schedule is amazing, it begins with a bang, let’s get this blog up and running! You’ve got to get these memories written down or you’ll lose them forever!”
“You’re right,” I answered back (yes, I talk to myself). “It’s the perfect time to start. Let’s go!”
Fast-forward to February 2025. We’re already four shows into a ten-show season…and I haven’t written a single post. Not one. Sure, I’ve composed dozens of entries in my head—clever opening lines, funny stage door moments, heartfelt reflections—but when they stay up there, no one else gets to share in the joy of experiencing Broadway on tour with me.
And let me tell you, there’s been plenty to share.
The Season So Far
We kicked things off with The Lion King—one of my all-time favorites. It played here for three glorious weeks, selling out nearly every single performance. Some pretty amazing stage door moments happened, and I even got to know a few of the actors. That alone could’ve filled a handful of posts! Did I write them? Nope.
Next up was & Juliet, a production that was brand-new to me and absolutely delightful. Charming, witty, packed with energy—I adored it! A show that fun deserves a blog post brimming with exclamation points…but once again, nothing made it to the page.
Then came A Beautiful Noise, finally breaking our two-month “Broadway Drought” in the new year. What a blast! The actor playing Neil Diamond sounded just like him, and the audience was actually invited to sing along. (Yes, the house lights came up and the whole theatre “bom-bom-bom’d” together—it was surreal and wonderful.)
And now? Hamilton has arrived. As expected, it’s doing spectacularly. King George is still delightfully unhinged, the energy is electric, and everyone (and their mother) is clamoring to be in the room where it happens. Tonight was show #2 of a 16-performance run—sold out on a Wednesday night. Incredible.

Why Now?
So here I am—with an idea four years in the making, half a season gone, and still nothing but self-deprecating pep talks to show for it. I thought I’d let the season dictate the structure of this blog, and in some ways it will. But tonight, something small but meaningful happened—something beyond “just” the show or “just” meeting the actors (which I absolutely plan to write about too).
It’s fitting that it happened at Hamilton, since that’s one of the shows that gave me the Broadway bug in the first place. (That story deserves its own post, and trust me, I’ll get to it.) But for now, I’m ending here—because this little spark deserves its own spotlight.
Thanks for reading—I can’t wait to finally share these moments with you.
🎭 What about you? What was the first Broadway (or touring Broadway) show that made you fall in love with theatre? Drop your memory in the comments—I’d love to hear your story.
